Cultural policy and the politics of display. The establishment of the opera house in Oslo,
International Journal of Cultural Policyhttps://doi.org/10.1080/10286632.2024.2333857
How can we understand governments’ willingness to make large investments in iconic cultural buildings? What does this trend tell us about governments’ cultural policy interests and priorities? In this article we illuminate these questions based on a study of the framing of the political decision-making processes associated with the establishment of the Opera House in Oslo, Norway.

Festivals and the political dynamics of cultural policy.
Nordisk kulturpolitisk tidsskrift. Vol. 26. Download
In this article, we account for the history of changes in festival policies at the state level of government in Norway
from the 1990s to the present. The question we seek to illuminate is: What can these changes in festival policy tell us generally about the political dynamics of cultural policy in Norway?

International Relations. https://doi.org/10.1177/00471178211036218
This article elaborates on ideas concerning future generations and whether they are useful in understanding some aspects of the concern for the global ecological commons. The Norwegian Petroleum Fund: Savings for Future Generations?
Environmental Values. 30(2): 147-167. https://doi.org/10.3197/096327120X15868540131305
The Norwegian state-owned Petroleum Fund's market value is more than one trillion US dollars, and the Norwegian state has become one of the world's largest stockowners. The Fund was established in 1990 and in 2006 and renamed the ‘Government Pension Fund Global’, as savings for future generations. What kind of values form the basis for describing the Petroleum Fund in this way?

Migration Studies.5 (2):267-285.

This article shows how the Migration Statistics Regulation plays a central role in EU/Schengen external border control. It develops and applies an analytical framework, which shows analogies between how historical nation states produced statistics as a basis for politics and the harmonisation of European migration and asylum statistics.

Immigrant Organisations as Schools of Bureaucracy,
Ethnicities. 15(1): 92-111. Download
The city of Oslo has established a council of immigrant organisations (CIO). The city has designed CIO to have a double mandate: one from the city of Oslo and one from the immigrant organisations. The question raised in this article is how the city of Oslo’s design of CIO has an impact on its form of representation, its activities and its political position within local government.
